Have you ever seen a Harley Davidson motorcycle ripping down the road and wondered how it’s built? Well, you are in luck! Tours are offered FOR FREE at the York Harley Davidson plant (1425 Eden Road in York) Monday through Friday from 9am-2pm! These tours generally last about an hour and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. These classic journeys through the inner workings of motorcycles offer a bird’s eye view of the plant’s assembly and fabrication areas. If you are a fan of Harley Davidson, this tour is a must for you!

Please be advised that the following are not permitted in the plant:

  • cameras or recording devices of any kind
  • bags/packages
  • luggage
  • camera bags
  • open shoes/heels
  • children under 12
  • visitors under 18 without an adult

Did you know that Lancaster is home to the residence and final resting place of the 15th President of the United States, James Buchanan?

Wheatland, the home of Buchanan from the time he left office in 1861 until his death in 1868, is a preserved marvel of architecture located just outside of Lancaster City. This beautiful home, built in the popular federal style, contains 17 rooms that have changed very little since the time of President Buchanan.

Not far from Wheatland is the final resting place of President Buchanan. The gravesite, located in beautifully restored Woodward Hill Cemetery (538 East Strawberry Street, Lancaster City), is accessible to the public and may be visited from dawn til dusk everyday. The gravesite is immaculately cared for and is the location of a yearly ceremony to celebrate the birthday of President Buchanan.

Despite the chilly weather and the later than normal snowfall, baseball season has indeed arrived in Harrisburg! There are few better ways to spend an afternoon or evening than kicking back on City Island and watching our Senators fight towards a victory! As always, the Senators baseball club has created game day promotions with both children and adults in mind.

On Sunday, April 29th—beginning at 1:30 pm—the first 4,000 fans of ALL AGES to attend the Senators game on City Island will receive a one-day pass to Hershey Park! This is one of largest giveaways in Senators’ history, so be sure to come out to the ballpark for a day of great baseball AND possibly win a chance to visit the sweetest place on earth!

Spring has sprung (despite some leftover flurries). As we look to come out of our winter hibernation, our attention to turns toward outdoor activities. Did you know that Central Pennsylvania has a fully accessible, twenty-one-mile long rail trail that’ll take you from the heart of downtown York clear down to the Maryland state line? The Heritage Rail Trail County Park is an ADA compliant, 10-foot wide compacted stone surface that is designed to handle running, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and more!

This linear trail runs through scenic southern York County, crossing through 11 different municipalities. The trail is equipped with facilities including public restrooms, picnic tables, and benches. There are several small communities along the trail’s path that offer food and areas to rest and relax. The Heritage Rail Trail is built to provide a relatively level grade, with elevations between 400-800 feet.  The trail also offers a glimpse into our past, with a historic railroad line running adjacent to the trail. This same railroad line was used by President Abraham Lincoln as he traveled from Washington D.C. to Gettysburg to give the famous Gettysburg Address!
